Deuteronomy 2:30-32

The Voice

³⁰ But Sihon, king of Heshbon, refused to let us go through his land marching so close to his capital. The Eternal your God made him stubborn and obstinate so that he would fight and be defeated by you, and that’s just what happened. ³¹ The Eternal told me, “Look! I have already begun to hand Sihon and his land over to you. Go and take it! His land will be the first of your new territories.” ³² Then Sihon and his whole army came out to fight against us at Jahaz.
